Just got word that my mom is in the hospital from the nursing home, so i think my daughter & i are going up there sat (she's in evansville) 2 hours from here, gl to everyone on the felts & i hope to be back asap

just got back & it looks like her dementia has gotten severely worse, if you don'y know what dementia is well let me tell you it's not fun, maybe this link to read about it may help, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/dementia.html i couldn't take it, i dunno if i can go back there & see her like that again, ty all for such kind words, you don't know how much it helps

ss bout your mom, she & you are in my prayers.....my mom had dementia, didn't know who i was 1/2 the time...heart breaking!!!! God bless you & your mom...speedy recovery!!!!!! [[[hugs]]] marlene

Our dearest "Chaplain" Rainbow,

You help us all so much when we really need help with our feelings. And now my heart is breaking and I hurt for YOUR feelings.

I also understand them. A few years back, I went thru the same thing with my Mama. So very tragic and a cruel, cruel condition, at least for the ones who love the patient. I could not tell if she was hurting emotionally or not - and I knew her well. But I knew that my hurting could hardly have been any worse.

She rarely knew who I was. To this day, I pray that she was not hurting too, and for some reason, I have a strong feeling that they have left suffering behind them when they enter that condition.

It was during that time that my marriage fell apart, too, ending up in divorce. My wife had never seen me in a deeply suffering state - only in happy ones - and she could not tolerate me, much less support me by trying to understand. Life with me was not "fun" anymore.

A bad, bad time period in my life. So my heart goes out to you sincerely, dear one.

Can you think of anything at all I could do to help you?

You have both my sympathy and my empathy, sweetheart. You have been in my thoughts often since I found your sad post.

May God bless both you and your mother.

i'm not so sure i can deal with all this, it's much more complicated as guru said than just the illness, i love you all so much, you'll never know the depth of my devotion to you all

Dear Rainbow and ALL:

Let me give you one "peace and security post" to tie yourself to.

Since we have all become so close and depend on one another for support quite often - and since everybody needs a permanent security blanket they can depend on - I suggest this:

Just as a guarantee and a precaution in case we should unexpectedly have to be shut down due to a lack of incoming revenue: Why don't we all PM or post for one another our email addresses?

That way, we won't have to ever fear losing touch.
