I'm tired of playing lately, making the right calls, and getting beat down for making making the right call.
I am playing at Pokerstars atm, and just had a player go allin, on my BB with me holding AK. I know AK isn't as great as it looks
AK= Anna Kornikova (the tennis player)
"Looks good, but rarely wins" hehe
So, i decided to make the call, and it was the right one, i even called what he pushed with AQ,
and wouldn't you know, the flop comes Q77 and i lose leaving me !73 chips, i have tripled and doubled up atm to get back to 2700 with 30 players to go, but it would be nice to have the better hand hold up in the late stages of the game.
This happens all the time, i seem to get "unlucky" at the wrong times.
and just now, 1 before the button, i push with AQ, and of course run ito AK on the button, and of course i lose and i'm out. Sigh
Anyways, i'm sure alot of you know exactly what i'm saying. |

Q-7-7 flop and losing to an A Q to your A K? I don't think that isn't so bad...i mean...it could have been worse...you could have lost to my 7-5 off suit donkey play that never loses then u would have been vivid. |

I'm not saying its so terrible to lose to AQ when i'm holding AK, but lately, its just that i have been playing these $2.20 180 man sng's and been getting deep almost everytime, winning some hands that i should early, but when it matters the most, it never fails, if i make the right call in the late stages, or make a move and turns out i have the better hand, they just are not holding up. Sometimes, if i win a couple of these hands at these certain key points of the tournament, i'm almost guarenteed to get to the FT.
i've finished in the top 18 about 5 times, 12th my best finish twice, and one of those times, i lost with AA 2 times within 10 minutes with 16 players to go, crippling my stack. I win both of those hands, i'm getting to the ft.
I'm just getting tired everytime i get deep, i can't count on my best hand to hold up when i need it to. I know, thats poker, but what i'm getting to is its just frustrating for it to happen almost everytime i play this tournament. |

D-
You have to understand Kid plays ALOT differently then most of us, and yes, his "crazy" plays have been lucky for him, SO FAR LOL
(Like his comment above about the off-suit 5-7, ONLY he would have even been in the pot with that hand, as deep as you were playing, most of US, would have only been in the pot with a high pair or holding exactly what you two were)
I love that Kid can play that way, as long as I am not at the table- HeHe |

well, the point of the story is no matter what the other was holding even if it woulda been 7-f offsuit, i'm still not winning with the best hand.
I too, sometimes play some hands that shouldn't even be in the pot with,
depending on the situation, thats the beauty of the element of surprise, knowing i shouldn't be holding Q6 , and caught 2 pair to crack your AA.
but just saying, if i could win just a few of the hands at the right times when i should, when i'm dominating the hand, like AK vs. AQ,
i might have a few screenshots to brag about. Thanks for all of your input guys, enjoyed reading your responses. |
