I'm not sure what would make each one of you happy, but I know EXACTLY what would make ME, your Coach and Guru VERY HAPPY! This would make me happy: 1. If you are signed up to play, then you show up and you play to the best of your ability, STAYING FOCUSED ON THE GAME, not giving a thought to what ANYBODY thinks of how you are playing! 2. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF MAKING A MISTAKE! I am a pro player and I cannot remember a single game I ever played in which I did not make at least one really stupid mistake, sometimes even knocking me out of the game! 3. Your ability to play WILL NOT BE JUDGED on our very first game by anyone who has any sense at all! 4. It is just a game, But it is a very SERIOUS game. Some fools will base their opinion of our respectability on FIRST MEETING. So do play with good thought processes, letting NOTHING distract you. Their opinion cannot hurt us. But it cannot help us either. 5. The most common mistake made by poker players is not folding enough hands! Fold unless your cards tell you that you have a good chance of winning. 6. Pee before you start the game, and ALSO, freshen yourself up to feel as good as you can WTHOUT any alcohol or drugs. 7. Let your own mind and memory be the ONLY thing that influences you. 8. I will be proud of you, no matter what the outcome, if you don't overdo the chatting (we can chat afterwards) and simply KEEP YOUR MIND ON THE GAME! 9. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: If you are NOT playing tonight, so what? I don't know of a single sport in which every member of the team plays every game! If you are a PC member, THEN YOU ARE A MEMBER OF OUR POKER TEAM just as much as the ones playing tonight!......and YOUR conduct.....before, during, and after the game, will show just what kind of member you are!
