HELLO my Eager Beavers and Badgers! Here is your first contest from me for September:

This may be the only 1-question essay quiz you have ever encountered.

The prize will be taken by the drawing of a name from my finest humidor after all names are put in it of every member who enters. So please remember the meaning of the HONOR CODE and please, even if it embarrasses you (would it be the first or last time?) PLEASE answer honestly in order to make the contest fun for all to read the answers!

PRIZE will be: My spinning wheel number of PC points!

HERE IS YOUR ONE ESSAY QUESTION: When in the days that have passed this September did you first notice on the Portal Page that PokerGuru had changed the opening announcement? (Added it above the one that has been there for a couple of months?)

I Never ever go to the Portal Page

2nd time ive been there was about 1 min after I read the essay question.

1st time was when I became a member (he he he he)

Ya got me Guru!I go to the Portal page all the time for a quick review of recent postings.I honestly can't say if I have ever actually scrolled all the way down the page.No idea why I wouldn't have because I usually do where ever I'm at on the site.I'm sorry for being so duh{not blonde}
You can be assured I will be checking there regularly for new messages.

My honorable Poker Crushers!

I must tell you, even perhaps to your surprise if you have read all the answers so far, that I am VERY HAPPY with your answers!

There are 3 reasons your answers so far have made me so happy:

1. First and foremost, you seem to be very comfortable being totally honest with me, as I always am with you, and what better relationship could we have?????????!!!!!!!! Important for all that will follow in the coming months!

2. You have now learned something else that I consider VERY important! (And you didn't even know it was a sneaky lesson, did you? LMBO!) At poker forum/portals AND at poker sites, you will have a great advantage over other players if you internalize the philosophies, priorities, and values held highest at each site -- and the opening page or portal page of each site is where you will soak all that up without even being aware that your mind has found pegs to hang these valuables on so they will always be there in a background corner of your mind, ready to jump forward to your decision-making processes any time such awareness is called for!

3. When visitors to our beloved Poker Crush arrive for the first time, they most likely WILL read the portal page -- and it will, in my opinion, make a difference in whether they sign up as members or not. And the more members we get, the better ......for a variety of important reasons.

So I would like to give you a DOUBLE thank-you for your honesty! I would also like to ask you to CHANGE your routine and at least LOOK OVER the contents of our very important Portal Page. THE SEARCH ENGINES DO!

I have to admit that I don't go to the protal page unless my attention is drawn there by a post such as yours, Guru. So I did not see your new message until this morning! I generally scan thru the forum listings checking for new postings and go from there.

I am very impressed by your post not far above, Guru. Especially the way you worked a lesson into this contest!

I almost hate to break following suit, but to be honest, I always check out the Portal page first, even if it is just a glance-over to see if there is anything new. Probably because it's just my nature not to want to miss anything! LOL

By the way, sorry I have not been around much lately. I will be here regularly from now on!!!! I have been spending a lot of time checking out all the new poker sites and I have been trying to promote our forum here, even at our big sister site, Casino-Crush.

I think maybe a lot of CC'ers have not been told that a lot of poker sites also have the best slots games! I have never thought to tell them either.

I guess we are a big-time site now, huh? With membership over 500!

ok i apologize though the only thing i have noticed in the past month....was the background change...which is on alll the pages of the forum....well as far as i have noticed, which i might add looks good.

Hi notLOL ~

I noticed that not only did the change you mentioned happen, but if your computer slows down a bit sometime, you can akso see that Geno has changed black-on-red script behind every page from the words "Poker Crush" to the words "Guru's Poker Crush".

That shows me what Geno must think of our Guru, and it must make both of them feel really good!

Ok I hate to admit this.... my first stop is always the portal page because my quicklink to Poker Crush takes me there. When I get there however I click on view posts since last visit almost always without looking at it.

Now I have viewed the portal page on Casino Crush but my link takes me right to the forums. FUNNY I do at some time or another stop and browse the portal pages when I have more time and have found a lot of neat stuff there!

What this all means is... to make a long story short LOL.. is that no I didn't notice a change. I was first to notice the background for the site when it changed though!! hahaha

I will certainly check out the portal page now. I just usually have so little time to do stuff lately I rush to see what new messages have been written so I don't miss anything. So in my rush I seemed to have missed something after all hahahaah

I actually DID notice the change in the wording of the welcome message, but it was just a few days ago (but it was before I read this thread!).

My computer starts me out on the portal page whenever I click the link on my toolbar that takes me to Poker-crush, so I see it every time I visit, and I guess that's why I noticed it had been changed.

I know some of them never do change, but I actually figured that's just pretty much the way they all were.
