The only man I can honestly say as I grew up would be my grandfather. He really didn't influence me a whole lot but he gave me a love of nature.
I really wasn't around him much but there are things he taught me about nature and made me appreciate as I grew up.
My father was not around since I was about 2 and realy no other man was around that I liked or respected.

That would be my dad, a mans man taught me so much about what a man should be. He took care of us, loved us, and he was my best friend. Sadly he passed a little over 3 years ago and everyday I miss him. I love daddy.

my dad was the best! tho gone for 11 years now all he taught me still stays with me daily. I think I would have to say he was strick but yet leanient and altho I am a girl I was his first boy. we did evthing together. fish, hunt etc. then when i grew up some and became a teenager he told me that it was time to start acting like a woman now and stop being his side kick. I owe my knowledge of auto mechanics, my success at sports and my personality of fun and caring all to my dad. I love you dad even tho you are gone.thanx

Strange that you would have this contest now and end on the 23rd LOL
My father who has been gone for many years would be 103 on that day. He had a great influence on me growing up and even in my later years. He left school in the 8th grade but was a smart man. He loved doing wood working and creating crafts. He helped me make out four poster bed on his home made lathe (we are still using it ) He made my kitchen table and benches when we moved into this house and we are still using them.
I loved my father

Had many men greatly influence me from my father to my brother, a couple of excellent teachers and close fatherly type friends so to hard to pick one out specifically, but thanks to all of them for thier love and assistance!

I give thanks for the relationship I have with my father today...whether it be advice or just a good old political debate, I know we can always talk about just about anything.

My great Grandfather. He raised me from a newborn until I was 8, and I was always close with him until he passed on when I was 17...He had the biggest influence on my life and I still miss him to this day.

My dad. They don't make them like him anymore. He's from Missouri and the old school. He's cross between Little House on the Prairie and Grizzly Adams. He comes from a time where his word means everything and there's somethings ya just don't do.

As a kid i really didn't have a male figure that influenced me. My dad was always at the bars, etc...but as i got older and he stopped drinking we grew very close and we had some good times. He passed away 3 years ago and i miss him dearly.

I think I'd have to give thanks for my husband. I first met him when I was 16 years old. Before he came into my life I was a pretty quiet person, really shy and easily embarrassed. He helped me learn to be more open to people, to be myself, not who everyone else wanted me to be. Even though we spent so much time apart, his influence helped to make me the person I am today.

I would have to say that when I was a kid, it was my brother. I had 9 brothers and they all influenced me in some way (a lot negative) but my brother Jeff, who is 2 years older than I was more like a friend. In my family, it was a very good thing to have a friend.
Then I met Dan, when I was 14, who I would marry when I was 16. He influenced me from the day we met and for the next 27 years. I found hope where I had none and saw beauty in myself through his eyes.
