Banter and Bitchin' - General Chat + Questions and Answers - Elimated twice in 1 hour with A-A ALW - 10.02.2007, 06:29 Post subject: Elimated twice in 1 hour with A-A
Dear Poker Guru, within 1hr,I've been eliminated from 2 tourney's in almost exactly the same way.On both occasion's I've been dealt A-A in late pos. In the 1st tourney,2 plyrs before me go all-in. I readily call. The same in the 2nd tourney but this time a third opponent also calls all-in after me. Each time I'm beaten by unpaired, unsuited card's. I can also recall the same scenario happenning on other occasion's. Has my luck ran out? What else could I have done, FOLD A-A?????? I'm not sure if I could. I think letting go of my wage packet would be much easier!!!
Please help
Alan
P.S. I would also be very grateful of any P-C member's opinion's

Well for me.. would really depend on what the flop was, or even the turn. Without knowing what was on the table I have a hard time saying. If I had nothing for a possible flush, full house, 3 of a kind from the flop or turn or even a straight when there is a great possibility that someone might hit those I would fold. Just my opinion After all they are JUST a pair even if they are aces.

ALW ~
Until PokerGuru gets to your question, I have to tell you that I agree 100% with Valeria.
One of the things the Guru has stressed to us time and again is that we all tend to overestimate the Ace. It will win only if there is nothing held by any other player higher than a single pair!

It happened to me 3 times in one day last week.
If the all in is before the flop you just have to pray for
the right community cards.Val is right on with her advice, although
I have not followed it a few times and lost.Lesson learned.LOL

Hello Alan and welcome to Poker Crush
Now onto business...although yes I have gone all in pre-flop with pocket aces (shhhh don't tell our Guru :-) ) I do tend to fold them most of the time for that very reason..I usually get beat!!
