MAY POKER THINKING
Presented by BowerCrush
OMAHA POKER RULES
Omaha is similar to Texas Hold'em.
In Omaha, hands are usually much better, since you get to choose from 9 cards total.
1.Hole Cards. Each player is dealt four cards face down.
2.The Flop. Three cards are dealt face up on the table.
3.The Turn. A fourth card is dealt to the table.
4.The River. Finally, a fifth card is dealt to the table.
The five cards on the table are community cards. Your hand is formed by taking exactly two hole cards and exactly three community cards, and forming the best poker hand possible. But remember, all the players have access to the community cards. When played for money, there is a round of betting after a round of cards is dealt (so four rounds of betting in total)

The Omaha Learning Curve!
First of all, I learned Hi/Lo Omaha first- which was not the smartest way to learn Omaha! It took many ego blows and countless losses over a period of time to get it.
My advice to New Omaha Players- WRITE DOWN THIS FACT-
You can not use more than 2 CARDS from your hand. EVER!!!win4maw - 06.05.2014, 14:10 Post subject:
I have never heard of this game!!! It does sound very interesting

Right on, Patti...Alan still has trouble with Omaha for that reason! I love it! There are so many combinations and so much you have to think about with the other players' hands and the board. It keeps my mind working!

To this day, this game still confuses me. Even though the rules are explained or laid out to me. LOL I tend to steer clear of it. Heck even the whole splitting thing confuses me on Holdem. UGH! It's all in fun for me!

Omaha is confusing some times for me because I tend to try and use more than 2 of the cards in my hand when thinking of what I have and what I don't

2 from your hand, 3 from the board. EVERY HAND, NEVER CHANGES !!!
Relatively simple really. It just takes, like, a year for it to sink in. Once it
does, you cant understand why you couldnt understand.
gjr1961 - 21.05.2014, 22:40 Post subject: It does sound like an interesting game. There definitely would be a whole lot of thinking involved; a different kind of thinking. In my opinion, serious concentration is necessary in all poker games. Learning a new way of thinking sounds challenging, which can be a good thing. ojisplayin - 26.05.2014, 19:37 Post subject:
