PART 2

Turbo Tournaments
A turbo or speed tournament is one where the blinds rise very quickly. Often, the blinds will escalate every 5 minutes. In fact, it is not unheard of to have the blinds increase every two minutes!

These types of tournament have a higher luck factor than typical tournaments. There is very little postflop play because people tend to be forced to go all-in preflop or fold.
For this type of tournament, aggression is important. The blinds will quickly eat away your stack if you play passively.

Turbo's are not a good fit for everyone. In Conclusion:

Steal the blinds a lot and hope like hell luck is on your side..... LOL

OMG!!! thank you for telling me what turbo is. Am going to make sure i play turbo cause the other ones take to long. I love paying poker but hate it when they last 4 or 5 hours to complete. Turbo should cut the time.

I find that turbo's are a great way to throw away money for me.. LOL I don't play them. I like the slow painful death than fast and quick in Poker.

Turbo's are kind of like Wham! Bam! Thank you Ma'am poker and leave me feeling incomplete... ROFL

Its funny, but I agree with every one of the posts so far. Would seem to be good fit for novice players, without the patience and/or time involved in playing "traditional" poker tournaments. Never had great results in turbo tourneys myself. Dramatically increases the luck/skill ratio.

Sometimes I play turbos but as a general rule I do not. I consider them more luck playing the lottery LOL

I love to play turbo poker. I think it seperates the mice from the men. You have to always have some luck on your side. It makes all the differenc!

To be honest, I didn't know anything about turbo tournaments. I don't think that I would like to go fast because so much of the time my mind doesn't work that way. It seems to prefer part time work at a slower pace.

okay im different from most, if i was going to play tournaments then turbo suits me more, as everyone knows i lose interest in normal tournaments as they can be boring and last way too long, i find turbos are more exciting tho and like bower says the blinds rise so quick that the games more interesting, no sitting for ages just seeing everyone folding all time, and as bower says luck plays more of a part in it so id rather lose quickly by getting bad cards or win quicker by getting good cards, some of the normal tournaments you find you can get dealt good cards 5 hands in a row with no way to play them as everyone folds but with turbo you got a better chance of making good cards count
