After speaking to a couple of our team members about being a little more aggressive, Archie decided to extend it to this month's Poker Knowledge Contest.

Poker Crushers, here are a couple of reasons why you should be somewhat aggressive at times-

AGGRESSION

Betting is generally preferable to calling in a no-limit game. When you bet, you can win if you have the better hand or if your opponent folds. If you call, you can only win if you have your opponent beaten. If you bet, you determine the bet size. You determine the pot odds. If you call, you are accepting someone else's odds.

If you bet, you force people to pay off when you have a good hand. If you are a caller, you have to hope someone else will willingly pay you off. The importance of aggression is why tight-passive players can win a lot more at limit than no-limit.

PLEASE POST YOUR THOUGHTS ON "AGGRESSIVE" PLAYERS AND HOW YOU PLAY AGAINST THEM-

TERMS FOR WINNING A CASH PRIZE

i wait for a big hand,then trap them, many times i may fold what is probably the best hand, but I wait until i'm sure i'm a big favorite

I don't mind aggressive players I think it adds a challenge to the game. What I can not stand is the all in every hand players like in rebuy tourneys that drives me crazy. I have played both passive and aggressive but most of the time when there is an aggressive player I usually fold. Smile

Playing allin every hand isn't being aggressive.That's called Poker Bingo aka stupidity.

personally i think its all about watching the players
see what they are betting on
whether they re raise often and on what ,
also you gotta feel it.
to be honest i love playing aggressive.
but of course , that always leaves you open to a big loss
so be careful out there you wanna be ss lol
there is an art to it .......

I usually just look at every hand and think, "would I be willing to take this all in?" If the answer is yes, then I call. It usually works for me.

Absolutely!! Pros are skilled players.

Poker Bingo Players May Get Lucky Sometimes, BUT Are Not Consistent Winners!

I play aggressive at times to confuse those who make notes of players playing habits. At other times I just keep quietly raising the pot and then do a killer raise at the end when I know my hand is going to win by the flop or turn.

I play passive and aggressive depending on the table, cards and other players.

I can understand the reasons for being aggressive sometimes. In reality though, I usually get intimidated by aggressive players and fold. I have been aggresive when I had a good hand and then everyone else folded. That's a drag because the pot wasn't very big.
