POKERGURU PRESENTS (Archive) - Poker Lesson DAILY WISDOM PokerGuru - 22.02.2009, 10:48 Post subject: Poker Lesson DAILY WISDOMHello PCers! Just starting something new with DAILY WISDOM.
Never hold three cards of the same suit for a flush unless the hand also has a potential straight flush looming.
Please make that thought part of your second nature playing.

I notice that when a table is flying around-ck/ck/ck...etc AND I think, okay, Bower would pbly bet large to fold ev1 and sweep it..
I use Bower ONLY because I have witnessed him doing that & "showing" cards afterwards, and guess what? He had NOTHING...brat..LOVE IT!!
But, when I try this, time and again, they ALL call me and inevitibly RAISE at River, to whch I have no choice, BUT TO FOLD!! grrr... lol
NOW, maybe it's because they have "learned" how I play...??....because LATELY, when I bet small, EARLY... THEY FOLD if 3 up are suited..??!! PokerGuru - 24.02.2009, 05:24 Post subject: That is an easy one to solve, OJ.
Save your bet until the river!
OJ, dearest, if you will just commit to memory all the strategies (I call them rules), then you won't have to do so much wondering and agonizing at the tables. You will know what to do immediately in almost every case.
Now let me explain Bower's strategy to you! It is one HE LEARNED, too! He is making them think he bluffs a lot by showing them his "nothing" cards, just like he made YOU think that. For a reason! Then, when he DOES have a great hand ..... and bets the same way ..... they will think he is doing the same thing - and so they will decide to fool him and call him! SNAP clangs his trap! He has the big bets money they called him on!
See?
Hugs and understanding,

Aha!!! lol Captain ISNT always bluffing??? jis kidding... Great Strategy then! I am taking auto-muck off!!
Bower50 - 24.02.2009, 16:34 Post subject:
I Never Never Never use autofold or automuck.Always make your opponents think. If you use it then in one hand you delay then bet, odds are you won't make a cent. The time you take to make a play, folding or betting, should be about the same for all hands.Straying from this could be a major tell.
If i'm wrong,Guru will correct me,which I won't mind at all.
ojisplayin - 24.02.2009, 19:04 Post subject:
Hmmm, I see players do just that. I never auto-fold, but I do use the auto-muck RATHER...I used to. No More
Forgot that I have so much more to learn. I feel inept. Wringing-out my sponge now, for more ABSORPTION ROOM.
Thank You Guru, Bower! ((hugs)) From Your Wide-Eyed-1st Year ~Patti

I am waiting for guru's reply to bower!!!! eagerly!
PokerGuru - 25.02.2009, 03:32 Post subject: Well now, Nana, I do appreciate soooo much your participation in these DAILY WISDOM lessons, as I will ANY member's who participates!
Your remark here in this one is VERY easy to answer!
If you will reread them both, you will see that Bower and I are saying exactly the same thing!
And why wouldn't we be? After all, Bower was once a beginner with me, too! He became an excellent, top-notch scholar and a disciplined scholar. He studied until he had made every lesson second nature to him!
Even now, he sometimes, I believe, goes back and reviews some old lessons just to make sure he is standing on a firm foundation -- and he WINS! A LOT!
