Post subject: chat 12-23 - A VERY SPECIAL ONE!

There was a small but interesting group this evening. Sad to say, but we lost a member, Slotmom decided she is not returning. Her reason was that she did not fit in here, since she did not play poker well. The group went on to discuss learning and the ability to do it at any age. Previous schooling has nothing to do with the ability to learn new things.

Guru is having a guest this Christmas. RC will be visiting him. He revealed that when he visited her.....she took him to a pow-wow and "scared the beJesus out of him".

Bower suggested a new contest idea.....what don't we know about you?
I revealed that I had done some exotic dancing when I was young and stupid. Oj told us about a cousin putting a q-tip in her ear, causing hearing loss.

Sharon revealed that she got unexpected help from 2 anonymous crusher angels this season.

Bower will be receiving Guru's chat cards for Christmas this year. Congratulations Bower!!!!

To protect my "fearless" reputation LOL! I must say that it was not the Pow Wow that scared me, but RC herself.

I did not expect her performance at the PowWow. Therefore, it was quite a shock to me!

You see, RC is, as Bower reminded us, is "the real thing". Her Native American name is Royal Heart and she is revered by the entire Cherokee Nation as a miraculous Shaman.

When she came out to the sound of drum beats, dressed in her full Shaman regalia, including headdress with elk antlers and wolf head, and began to shout and dance, a normal procedure to all the others there but new to me...... and when she came right up to me...... and I saw her face with its painted markings and she stomped and yelped, I nearly fell backwards with a heart attack! Quite a memorable experience!

I was visiting to lend moral support when her mother, a full-blooded Cherokee, had been given a death prognosis by the local hospital.

The PowWow was in her mother's honor. The grand old Lady, by the way, is today strong and healthy and very much alive!

Sorry, Nana, but I just had to clear that up before RC comes to be my house guest for Christmas!

You are welcome, Nana. At least, I think you are. It is in a way, kind of embarrassing.

But it was more embarrassing there, where it was a great honor for me to be able to be there at all!

Funny thing about that ritual -- I haven't had one day of sickness since!

BAHWAHAHAHAHA!!!! I bet that was some sight Guru But really it must have been pretty cool too! Aside from your reason for attending how many pow wows do you actually get to attend in your life time if you are not tribal? Funny story I can totally picture the scene ROFLLLLLL!!!!!
