This place is huge, but I keep ending up in the same place all the time though. What am I doing wrong, or what am I not doing right ?

PokerGuru - 15.06.2008, 12:47 Post subject: Hello everybody!
Just returned from a series of back-to-back poker tournaments and would like to once again thank you all for keeping our home fires burning and proceeding to run our forum beautifully. No wonder I grow prouder of you faster than time can fly!
Welcome to new members who arrived during my absence and please let me explain my few short absences: One of my goals as a pro player is to bring the world championship home right here to PC, where I feel it is deserved. June and July require the most time away from my beloved PCers......and I am always anxious to get back.
With that being said, I now cannot resist entering this discussion!
My own house is populated by young Black Labs and Yellow Labs, whom I adore. They are my children and they are sure Daddy loves them!
Sometimes I think all real poker players are also dog lovers! In fact, if I ever have the time for a site of my own, it shall be named Poker and Dog Lovers Club.
As far as I am concerned, there is no worse man or woman than those who abuse or neglect animals, especially dogs. Furthermore, I think their punishment should match the crime......by being given exactly the same treatment as the crime! Or they could have their choice of 5 minutes alone with me.
I am a gentle and peace-living man, but every man (and woman) has his limits.....and mine stops where hurting little animals begins.
Thank you for accepting me into your conversation!

I had a black & white croosbreed 8 years ago. He was 6. He got into a fight with a local dog, which he slightly got the better off. The next day, the other dog's owner shot my dog, with a .22 air rifle, at point blank range, in his eyeball. I've never heard any creature cry so loud in all my life. Because it wasn't a powerful gun, it didn't kill him, but I wish it had. The vet destroyed him 3-4 hours later.
Nobody was ever convicted.

So sorry to hear about what happened to you pet That was totaly wrong of that neighbor to do that . I love dogs and that was part of your family , just like if I had one it would be apart of my family . But I do want to welcome you to the forum you are now a part of PC family and happy to have you as one too . WELCOME

Welcome scoo. My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your pet. It is terrible to lose any memner of your family. But you now have a much larger family, here at PC.
char1984 - 23.06.2008, 05:00 Post subject: Yes Scoo that is very sad and if the neighbor done that to mine not sure what I do but Im sure Id suffer in the long run as the neighbor more then likely would be blind as the saying a eye for an eye would take effect in my brain. It saddens me to even read that post.
PokerGuru - 23.06.2008, 05:17 Post subject: My dear member Scoo,
I am a grown man. A big man. A very masculine man. But when I read your post about your dog, I cried. I cried for your dog and I cried for you.
You say no one was convicted. Well, honey, you are wrong. That "man" has been convicted and sentenced to far worse than we humans could sentence him to. We are commanded to take care of all God's creatures, great and small! That bastard was seen by God as he did his foul deed!
Honey, if you will PM to me the name and address of that bastard, I will see that he is reminded every day of his life of what an unholy and cruel deed he did. I will remind him daily of the suffering he has caused to an innocent little one whom God loved!

And yes, I am a very, very mad Guru!Scoo - 25.06.2008, 13:34 Post subject:
My apologies, for stirring up such strong emotions in you all.
Your reactions show me what a close nit, thoughtful, and considerate bunch, (and I could go on ) that you all are.
Thank you all for your welcome, and your condolensces.
