My dear PCers,

I am a little concerned that I have done something to discourage too many of you from entering the Crossword Puzzle Contest to help us test this BETA edition and also for a chance to win $30.

Now you know me well enough by now to know that if something is wrong for my PCers, my first concern is to make it right!

Therefore, I am asking ALL of you to please respond here, letting me know (no matter what the reason) why more of you are not signed up for the February Crossword Contest.

I am asking you here to help me out, not worrying one bit about my feelings, so we can improve our forum further by having a FUN Crossword that you will be EAGER to attack!

Soooooo.........TRUTH - NOTHING BUT & ALL OF IT time again!

I know you will come thru for me with total honesty because that's the way we do things around here.

My reason is the language barrier Smile

English isn't my native, so it's hard for me at times.
PLUS I s**k when it comes to cross words ... in English anyway LOL

I hope the rest who are more capable will take part ... Smile

I can't see the numbers on the crossword..it's very dark...could we lighten it maybe? Smile

I'll be entering...soon as i get away long enough from the poker tables....lol...it is small and hard to read sometimes.

Same as beckie actually. I have a real hard time reading the numbers and it gets very frustrating because I start to type in answers only to find it was the wrong number. I would like it if the crossword was BIGGER and the NUMBERS bigger and more easily read. Even if I magnify it (which I have tried) some numbers are indistinguishable from others.

It makes it not fun when I have to strain and search for numbers rather than answer the puzzle.

I meant to add. Because it takes so much time searching for numbers I usually do it in days and sometimes if I get busy then I just forget about it till someone reminds me. Like this contest LOL

I also have a problem seeing the numbers and if I wasnt phobic to things on my head or face I might be able to see them with my ifocals lol.Then like Val I just put it aside and then forget.

I had problems seeing the numbers but what I did was print the page and the questions and saw every thing much better too . Then when I got all my answers I put them in place and sumited it . So give this a try it really works . Good Luck all

I have had alot of trouble seeing the numbers too. I have started my crossword but am stuck but hope to finish it as soon as a find the 2 answers I am stuck on lol

Guys and gals,

Thanks for your responses to this question - here are answers to the 2 main issues that I have seen mentioned a couple of times:-

HOW TO FIND THE CROSSWORDS:-
On the Top of the forum - next to the Games link is the Crossword link (YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO PLAY OUR CROSSWORDS).

AND AS FOR THE SMALL TEXT / TOO SMALL TO SEE...
- Unfortunately, I'm a little restricted here as to what can be done within the realms of different people with different browers etc.. but would suggest those that are having problems reading the small text try the following:-

In Internet Explorer - you can simply go to View->Text Size->Larger - until you can see it .. (once you want to put it to normal - just do the same, but click on Medium - or whatever your usual setting)..

In Mozilla - it's similar - View->Text Size- then Increase/Decrease or Normal to put it back...

I'm sure it's similar for other browsers too wink

Hopefully the above solves most of the problems you seem to be having with these Smile

but of course let me know if they do not wink

I wish we could just have the crossword open to a new window all of its own that way the crossword could be a LOT larger take up the whole window in size LOL

Members without printers: Please be patient, as my head, as well as Geno's, is still turning it over!

MEMBERS WITH PRINTERS: This is asking a lot but if you can print out the crossword in bigger size, do you suppose some of you could team up to e-mail copies to those with no printers for a short while?

Still working on it.

Well, my trustworthy and always dependable PCers!

I asked for the truth and you gave it to me! And I am soooo proud of that type of relationship we have......any of us can lay it all out on the line and by golly every PCer will respond with no more and no less than the honest truth as he/she sees it! Do you know how many groups can only WISH they had built that kind of trust?

The Crossword problems are not completely solved yet.....but you can bet that it is constantly on my mind and....sooner or later.....I WILL come up with the solution! I can only thank you again for your patience and even more....for entering it every month anyway...just to help me work it out!

There were so many entries, I had to use a bigger box than usual to stuff all the names into. Then out came the blind drawing of the name of the winner, who is:
