Banter and Bitchin' - General Chat + Questions and Answers - I have been warming up and got a little down. valeria - 30.12.2007, 00:36 Post subject: I have been warming up and got a little down.
Well I have been playing a lot of tournaments lately at Pitbull and thought I was losing my edge. I want to be in the top 10, but lately I make it to about 110. I was getting depressed. Was being more cautious than normal.
But then I thought, "wait a minute" that isn't so bad considering every tournament I have been in has been 675 to 750 people! So that means I beat out 500 to 600 people!
I will keep plugging away and sharpening my game till I make my goal
I was in one yesterday and really hurt myself by mistake.
I meant to click fold and instead hit call by accident. That "call" cost me $555. Boy was I mad! It was early in the game. But mistakes happen.
I have been down to $200 and have pulled myself back up to be a good contender. So don't just go all in because you figure the game is "over".
Play smart and you can build yourself back up!
I know this isn't a winning story but maybe it will help newbies to not ever give up and keep playing and you can't help but get better and better especially if you listen to our Guru! char1984 - 30.12.2007, 00:47 Post subject: Very well put Val and yes many times I have been down to less then 100 and pulled myself back out. PokerGuru - 30.12.2007, 02:34 Post subject: Thank you both, Valeria and Char, for reminding everyone of that very true fact of poker!
I am very fortunate, because those that have been my scholars for a long time are now great teaching assistants for me!!!!!!!

LOL Ms Filly ~
If you wanr to PM me your phone #, I will call you. Serious.
It is soooo much fun. (But I have made a fool of myself both games so far! lol)
Funny thing is -- I know I used to play good poker! Guess I'm out of practice.
Also, I always hung onto every word of Guru's lessons and advice scattered everywhere thruout the site and haven't been doing that as much lately. Gotta get back on the ball studying. When we have the best, it is dumb of me not to make the most of him!
Advise you to go back and study his lessons too. They prove 100 percent every time they are put to the trial and you can't find any others like them ANYWHERE!
