Banter and Bitchin' - General Chat + Questions and Answers - HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL CANADIAN PC'RS Sisters - 07.10.2007, 07:06 Post subject: HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL CANADIAN PC'RS
Hi,
Just wanted to wish all the Canadian PC'rs a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving...
Hugs,
sisters PokerGuru - 07.10.2007, 09:39 Post subject: Well, I got up pretty darn early, but Sisters still beat me to it! So I shall echo her sentiments and also wish happy celebrating to my Canadian PCers!
You know, I just have to say, hoping no one gets mad at me, that my poker scholars from Canada are among the best students I have ever had. You come to learn a specialty with a wonderful background.
So many times in colleges I know well, the profs are so frustrated because before they can teach their major subjects, they have to teach the incoming students the basics of a good education.
I am so grateful that not a single PCer who has come to me to study poker seriously has needed any remediation at all.
Your study skills, self-discipline, fulfilled language arts requirements and math skills, social skills, and general basic education qualifications were top-notch. You were primed as scholars and ready to specialize, understanding well every concept I presented and needing no repeated answers to questions after the first time asked. That is quite unusual. It's just one more thing that sets our membership apart from the general population, putting you ALL head and shoulders above the average John and Jane Doe.
That thrills me and spoils me as an educator! My colleagues who teach in regular universities envy me no end!
That is one reason I am very serious about establishing an official and formal poker college right here! With diplomas and the whole works!
As soon as our site grows a bit more....well, more than just a bit more, but I am a patient man,.......I will start looking into the official requirements and legalities of the matter.
But no matter what the Crush Poker College may one day become, YOU PEOPLE will always be able to claim the fame of being its first graduating class!
Most of you are not close to graduating YET, but a couple or 3 or 4 of you are! And even you few I still want to pass on a lot more of my poker methods to. So I guess from now on, those few of you will be considered post graduate students! Quite an honor really. And quite a JOY and PLEASURE for ME!
I don't know how that got mixed in with Canada Day, because I am talking to ALL of you. I was just reminded of what good foundations in knowledge some of my Canadians begin with. Something to have a lot of national pride about!
Forgive me for rambling and thinking to myself, but with my fingers on the keyboard!
Happy Celebrating!

You are gonna make the buttons pop right off my shirt. Then the neighbors will be talking about my hairy chest!
But you know what? It will be worth it all, just as you all are!
Thank you, honey, for complimenting my crazy, quirky, lessons!
AND.....you may be closer to becoming a post graduate student than you think!

My Poker guru,
I know I was guilty of not finishing your last exams, but I did have a lot going on at the time, and it doesn't stop the genuine excitement I feel at the prospect of being a part of your groundbreaking and unique venture. I think it's an excellent idea, and I'm sure that on this occasion, it is more like a case of the teacher spoiling the pupils.
Once again I thank You
Alan

You know it is never too late to learn.. you CAN teach and old dog new tricks if your a good teacher with plenty of praise and love which we have all of it here at PC!!
Well I am an old dog, have not been able to be online consistantly this last year but I have learned a LOT from our special Poker Guru. I get real disappointed when I am offline for awhile and come back to see so much I have missed!! BUT overwhelming as it might be to play catch up I have still learned a lot from our Guru. I still get pleased when I play "smart" and kick myself when I make a stupid move but I think I will be playing more "smart" the more I play. So it may be slow going for me with these set backs but I am still inching forward all the time.
We all love our Poker Guru. I love College but a Poker College whooooohoooo! Who wouldn't enjoy that!
Happy Thanksgiving Canadians!

Well done Valeria, you have an excellent atittude and the heart of a lioness.
Despite your setbacks, you've always managed to get back to us.
I know how disappointing you feel, being away from this place, and these people that you think so much of.
But if it ever happens again, don't despair,
because as much as you are missing being here with all of us.
You can be sure that we, and the Poker-Crush forum are missing you just as much.

awwww Thank You ALW111 your sooo sweet.
Well I finish 21st out of 300 people tonight.. wasn't real proud of that but I swear I couldn't get a decent hand dealt to me all night. HOWEVER, I was proud that I did a great comeback in one level from $795 up to $17,000!!!!! But just couldn't get good hands to bet much... it just petered away with forced ante's ROFL ok ok and a couple of nice hands being beat grrrrr.. But I still feel I played well overall.

Hi Valeria,
It sounds like you're playing yourself back into the swing of things nicely. 21st out of 300 is excellent.
It's good to hear that you're happy with the way you're playing.
It gives you a slight advantage over the whole table, before you've even been dealt any cards.
And I'd take that anyday, besides, when have you ever seen a sad winner.
keep it up.
