The Influence Of Gossip
I cannot afford to overlook the influence that other people have on me. there are cases where people quarrel, fight and even commit murder because they are influenced by gossip, influenced by the words of others. To what extent do I check that I am not being influenced by gossip? Negativity in the mind is like poison. Negative thoughts are the seeds of negative actions. It might seem like a simple everyday occurrence - my friends tell me in the strictest confidence that such and such a person is like this and does so-and-so. I listen and accept without question because of the friendship. My attitude and actions now become influenced by my friends words, and I find myself acting and reacting in accordance with the information fed to me. Gossip and guessing bring sorrow, heaviness and distrust. Poison can come in many disguises, but poison is poison whether from an enemy or a friend.

Don't get me going about gossip's. Please forgive my sin. I honestly cannot help but look at them and see a lower form of life. I dislike gossip so much, one minute you could be flavour of the month, the next minute you are ( as we say in UK ) sent to Coventry, and ignored for day's just because you forgot to contribute your £ 1 . 50p toward's the tea & coffee kitty. I know people who, ( unless they are speaking about someone who's done something to someone else because of such a thing ) do not otherwise speak, they speak constantly of event's in other peoples live's, but each time it is told and retold, each individual adds to it their own judgement. Trying to hold a worthwhile conversation with these kind of people is extremely difficult when they are unaware of the world around them, except that Mrs Jones at number 34 has had 3 husband's and 6 dog's, which, as it's told & retold later becomes, Mrs Jones at number 34 has had 6 husband's and treated them all like dog's

Oh do I understand you there ALW. In my eyes,gossip is about the worst enemy there is. I will leave a enviroment even if its family if there is gossip going on. I agree with you ALW dont get me going on that subject lol.

i feel the same alw i hate gossip and because of that i only have 1 true friend,most of my other friends gossip to much and when i started hearing the rumors about myself i told my husband i dont need friends anymore and im better off without them.my husband is my best friend any way and im very happy with that!!i should mention however that ive made alot of friends here on pc and cc forums and its really nice having some new friends lol!!!

I agree cindy7186, I have the same kind of social outlook.
And cindy7186, I'm so glad you said your husband was your best friend, it is so true.
I find it is better to pick fault's in people while their in the same room. Add a few other people and a few bottle's of wine and the result's are sometime's hilarious. Often ending the night with new nickname's and the like's. It's much more fun than making a sneaky call to your mate to say,
"Guess who I've just seen." and " Gueuss who she was with. "
Who care's , stop watching other people's live's and create one for yourselve's

yes i completely agree!!!and sometimes i dont think people realize how much thier gossip and false truths can really hurt the person who they are gossiping about.(gossip hurts)
